Practice / Hospital / Referral Centre Information

This hospital is a state-of-the-art facility, encompassing 60,000 sq ft and situated on fifty acres dedicated to emergency equine surgery. It offers comprehensive elective orthopedic and soft tissue surgery services. The team consists of a Chief Medical Officer of Equine, three highly esteemed board-certified surgeons, an anesthesiologist, and a dedicated support team of Registered Veterinary Technicians and Animal Care Attendants.

Departments

Veterinarians will share rotating on-call duties to ensure the best care for patients.

The practice is equipped with advanced diagnostics, including:

  • Siemens 1.5 MRI
  • Robotic Arm CT scan
  • Scintigraphy
  • Digital Radiography
  • Ultrasound
  • Arthroscopy and Laparoscopy Towers
  • Endoscopes
  • Additional features include a 6000 sq ft equine ring, an equine rehabilitation water treadmill, and an in-house lab and pharmacy.

Type of Individual Sought

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Equine Surgeon interested in working in a new privately owned hospital focused on compassionate care and innovation. The ideal candidate should be a collaborative team player, open to new ideas, and committed to providing the best possible care for equine patients.

Qualifications Required

  • ACVS or ECVS Board Certification in Large Animal/Equine Surgery
  • Licensed to practice in Ontario or eligible to obtain a license
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in equine surgery, with expertise in various surgical techniques and advanced diagnostic procedures
  • Experience in sports medicine is an asset but not required
