Small Animal Internist (Board Certified / Diplomate / Residency Trained)

Practice / Hospital / Referral Centre Information

Join a privately owned Equine and Small Animal Multi-Specialty Referral & Emergency Services Hospital located in Ontario, Canada. Our facility spans 60,000 square feet and includes:

  • Eight operating rooms
  • Twelve exam rooms
  • Two x-ray rooms
  • An intensive care unit (ICU)
  • A large learning center for knowledge exchange
  • Corporate gym

We are not a production-focused hospital and have been meticulously designed to promote employee wellness and uphold the highest standards of patient care. Expansion is underway with two additional phases to enhance our services.

You will be part of a dynamic and collaborative multi-disciplinary team, including:

In-House Social Worker

Board-Certified Specialists in Small Animal & Equine Surgery, Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Neurology/Neurosurgery, Anesthesia, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, Emergency Services, and Rehabilitation
Strong support team of Registered Veterinary Technicians and Animal Care Attendants

Equipment

Our hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostic tools and equipment, including:

  • 3T MRI (GE) for small animal patients
  • 1.5T MRI (Siemens) for equine patients
  • CT-Scan with a robotic arm for equine
  • CT scan for small animal (GE128 slice)
  • C-arm
  • Ultrasound (Logic Q)
  • Video endoscopes, rigid scopes
  • Laparoscopy/arthroscopy towers (Storz/Arthrex)
  • I-Stat and Radiometer
  • 7 Force Triad vessel sealing units
  • Arthrex and Synthes TPLO and plate fixation
  • Biomedtrix I-loc fracture fixation and total hip replacements
  • High flow oxygen and mechanical ventilation
  • ECG
  • VCM for Viscoelastic Coagulation

Additional facilities in our rehabilitation center include:

  • Three canine hydrotherapy treadmills
  • Regular canine treadmill
  • Equine hydrotherapy treadmill
  • Canine rehabilitation pool
  • Laser therapy (Companion Class IV)
  • 6000-square-foot indoor equine ring
  • Hyperbaric chamber (one of only two in Canada)

Type of Individual Sought

We are seeking a dedicated Board-Certified Small Animal Internist or an eligible candidate who is passionate about patient care and eager to work in a challenging, fast-paced environment. The role includes mentoring the next generation of veterinary professionals.

Qualifications Required

Candidates must hold either ACVIM Internal Medicine certification from the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine or ECVIM Internal Medicine certification from the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine.
