Practice / Hospital / Referral Centre Information

Join a 24-hour emergency and referral specialty hospital offering services in Emergency Medicine, Anesthesiology & Analgesia, Internal Medicine, Neurology & Neurosurgery, Oncology, Rehabilitation & Acupuncture, and Surgery. MedVet Akron is a VECCS Level II Emergency Facility and is in the process of expanding its facility, doubling its size to accommodate further growth. The hospital is fully equipped with advanced diagnostic imaging, including an MRI and CT scanner, and has an on-site board-certified radiologist and Hospitalist.

Departments

You will be part of the growing Critical Care department, working closely with the Emergency and specialty services to provide comprehensive care to patients in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

This establishment is equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging tools, including:

  • MRI
  • CT scanner
  • Board-certified radiologist on-site
  • Full complement of emergency and specialty care equipment

Staffing Levels

The hospital's specialty team includes board-certified professionals across multiple disciplines, including Radiology, Neurology, Oncology, Surgery, Internal Medicine, and Emergency Care, ensuring a well-supported and collaborative approach to patient care.

Type of Individual Sought

We are seeking a dedicated Board-certified Criticalist or an eligible candidate who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering the highest quality emergency medicine and critical care. The role includes mentoring the next generation of veterinary professionals.

Qualifications Required

Candidates must hold either ACVIM Critical Care certification from the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine or ECVIM Critical Care certification from the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine.
