Practice / Hospital / Referral Centre Information

This animal hospital is a 24,500-square-foot facility offering comprehensive veterinary services, including 24-hour emergency care, general practice, and specialty services in internal medicine, critical care, dermatology, cardiology, oncology, and ophthalmology. The hospital is well-equipped and serves a diverse caseload referred by over 300 general practice and emergency hospitals.

Departments

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team of specialists working closely with other departments, including internal medicine, oncology, cardiology, critical care, and dermatology. The hospital offers a collaborative and supportive work environment, ensuring excellent patient care and continued professional development.

Equipment

The hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostic imaging tools, including:

  • Toshiba Aquilion 64-slice CT
  • 0.25T Vet MR MRI
  • Pulsera Fluoroscopy unit
  • Philips ultrasound and echocardiogram
  • Karl Storz endoscope
  • Two Sound digital radiograph suites

Staffing Levels

The hospital's team includes six experienced specialists in various disciplines, with a strong support team of technicians, interns, and general practice veterinarians. The team works together to provide exceptional care and support for one another's professional growth.

Type of Individual Sought

We are looking for a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon who is either board-certified (ACVS) or residency trained and eligible to sit for board examinations in Specialty Surgery. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to mentor and train interns and technicians.

Qualifications Required

  • A valid DVM degree or equivalent
  • Board-certified or residency trained (eligible to sit for board examinations) in Specialty Surgery
  • Eligible for licensure with the College of Veterinarians of Ontario (CVO)
  • Leadership and organizational skills
  • Excellent diagnostic and critical care skills
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
