This hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinarian to provide exceptional care to patients while building strong relationships with their owners. This role emphasizes high-quality medical, surgical, and dental care, as well as effective client communication and education.

Veterinarian position in Hyattsville, Maryland - $50,000 Sign-On Bonus and Relocation Assistance Offered

Key Duties

• Build trusting relationships with clients, understand their needs, and deliver personalized care through physical exams, diagnostics, surgery, and dental procedures while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.

• Clearly communicate physical exam results and pet diagnoses to clients, create and explain treatment plans, and educate them on preventative care, vaccinations, and nutritional options.

• Maintain accurate and thorough medical records and ensure compliance with established protocols; support colleagues with patient follow-ups and ongoing care.

• Stay current with advancements in veterinary medicine and participate in Continuing Education opportunities.
• Mentor and support the paraprofessional team to ensure exceptional patient care and client service.
• Represent the hospital positively in the community and with the public.

Key Skills and Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution
• Valid state veterinary licensure
• Professional demeanor and appearance, excellent interpersonal skills, and a friendly, positive attitude
• Strong decision-making and clear communication skills for teamwork and client interactions
• Respectful and empathetic approach to clients and their pets
• Commitment to the highest standards of veterinary medicine and adherence to ethical practices
• Surgical proficiency is a plus
