Veterinarian Position - No nights or weekends - Broome County, NY

This practice has been a cornerstone of the local community for over 60 years, providing trusted veterinary care. We are open to both part-time and full-time veterinarians, offering a flexible work environment.

Nestled in the scenic Chenango River Valley on the eastern edge of Broome County, the practice is surrounded by picturesque rolling hills and is just a short drive from the Finger Lakes region. The area offers a diverse range of year-round activities, including relaxing wine tours, farmers markets, museums, hiking, and skiing.

Conveniently located within an hour's drive of Cornell University Hospital for Animals, making it easy to transfer patients for emergency or specialized care. Additionally, Cornell provides excellent opportunities for veterinary conferences and continuing education.

This modern facility is fully equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, in-house Idexx laboratory equipment for blood and automated urinalysis, surgical lasers, and therapeutic lasers. We maintain a supportive and friendly atmosphere, prioritizing high-quality care for patients.

With 30-minute appointment slots, you'll have ample time to conduct thorough examinations and educate clients, fostering strong relationships with pet owners.


Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive exams on small animals to diagnose and treat health issues
• Administer vaccinations, medications, and treatments as needed
• Conduct surgical procedures and provide critical care when required
• Advise pet owners on animal care, nutrition, and proper husbandry
• Keep accurate medical records and adhere to veterinary regulations
• Work closely with veterinary technicians to ensure the best patient care and safety
• Use aseptic techniques during procedures and manage lab tests when necessary.

Requirements:

• A valid New York State veterinary license
• DEA license
