Veterinary Cardiologist (Board Certified / Diplomate / Residency Trained)

Practice / Hospital / Referral Centre Information

This animal hospital, established in 2012, is one of Ottawa's premier emergency and specialty veterinary centers. Serving Ontario and Quebec, the hospital offers 24/7 emergency and specialty care. It is home to a diverse multidisciplinary team of specialists and generalists, working in a state-of-the-art facility that includes on-site CT, digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, and a fully equipped laboratory. The hospital is also undergoing a $12 million expansion, with plans to add new specialties, including Behaviour, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, and Neurology.

Departments

As part of the Cardiology team, you will collaborate closely with other specialties and the Emergency Department. You will be responsible for evaluating patients, establishing treatment plans, performing and supervising Cardiology procedures, and mentoring the hospital's staff.

The hospital is fully equipped with advanced diagnostic and treatment tools, including:

  • On-site CT scanner
  • Digital radiography
  • Ultrasound
  • Endoscopy
  • Fully equipped laboratory

Staffing Levels

The hospital's multidisciplinary team of board-certified specialists and highly skilled staff provide comprehensive care to small animal patients. The hospital also has a robust Emergency Service and offers rotating and specialty internships.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Cardiologist who values collaboration, has experience leading a team of technicians, and is eager to teach and mentor others. The ideal candidate should have a strong work ethic and be committed to providing exceptional care for both routine and emergency cases.

Qualifications Required

  • Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent
  • Experience working with a Cardiology team
  • Experience leading a team of technicians
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in ACVIM (Cardiology) or ECVIM
  • Eligible for licensure in Ontario, issued by the College of Veterinarians of Ontario
  • Fluency in English (bilingual candidates in French and English are encouraged to apply)
